Dan went to the Belmar dirt contest in New York this past weekend.

Dirt comp was set up with just one just where you had to pedal as fast as you could to clear it. According to Dan it was the biggest jump he has hit so far, and was really fun to ride.

Dan ended up making the finals, and placed 7th with tricks like the 360 in the photo. Congrats.

Here are the results:

Pro Finals-
10.-Cody Brown
9.-Garret Guilliams
8.-Mark Potoczny
7.-Dan Foley
6.-Chris Childs
5.-Van Homan
4-.Dan Psimer
3.-Brian Foster
2.-Clint Reynolds
1.-Chris Doyle

Pim went to the FATJAM as well, and ended up riding away from a double backflip on one of the jumps.

Pim has been at it with that trick for a while now, and it finally worked out, with a controlled landing and all. Congrats Pim!

There is a small video of the backflip here.

What's next with this guy?

Eduards went to Ride It summer Jam in Latvia this past weekend.

The contest is the biggest in Latvia, and is located right on the beach. Looks like such a nice place to be riding.

It rained twice during the contest, so ramps were a bit wet, but that did not seem to stop the contest.

Eduards has a small edit of his run here.
And there is also an edit of the full contest here.

Those 540 flatspins are not small!

While in Denmark for the demos at the tradeshow and for the team gathering, Mark put a new bike together with all the good stuff from Simple and Odyssey.
Unfortunately Mark just called in to let us know that the new bike got stolen in Amsterdam. Bloody long fingers!
So if you happen to see a white Enigma with green parts roll around Amsterdam, chances are it's Marks.

Despite having no bike, Mark went to the FatJam anyway, and just rode someone elses bike as you see on the photo.

With Mark being a produt deveolper at TomTom GPS navigations I could see him mounting a chip in his next bike so he can spot it whereever...

Dan is about to move from Maryland to North Carolina to go to the University there. Seems like there is a lot of good stuff going on there, loads of riders and good spots to ride.

Kert is sporting a cast on the arm these days. Had a bit of a hard landing while riding street a few days ago, hit his front wheel in a hole, and got fractures on his lower arm and his thumb.

Kert is in the middle of filming for a new webedit, and working on pictures for an interview for bmxunion.com, and it should not be long before he is back on his bike again.

We wish you a quick recovery with no complications Kert!

On a sidenote, the Ace frame, which is designed with Kert and streetriding in mind will be in stores very soon. Stay tuned for more info.

Couldn't help but noticing how one of my designs made it on there. See the CPH sprocket there to the right?
Funny how the designs appear random places from time to time...

And Rutger Pauw was here as well, snapping images of the riding that went down before the festival, so keep an eye up for some nice photos in the magazines after the next deadline also.

So we are back from the festival again.

This year the weather treated us really well, no rain, and no wind to bother anyone during the demos.
Riding this year was so good, and everyone seemed to be having a really good time. We had some minor injuries, but all in all everything was great! Some of the things that stood out would be Adrians 540's over the spine, Eduards 360 nosedives over the spine, Mitch's very high tailwhip airs and flow all over, Dan's 180 lookdowns on the spine and high tables (and a ton of flow), the tech trickery from Andreas Lindqvist and a high turndown straight out of the sleeping bag from Brad Simms.

Slayer was great, and so was all the other bands, sun was shining, beer was cold... good times!

Thanks so much to everyone who came out to hang out and ride this year. Hope to see you there next year.

You are probably wondering why the 100% photo on the right is posted here... It was a shop out at the festival. Eighter they have a straight forward marketing plan, or they were not done painting the sign yet... haha, you decide. Eighter way, it's a funny photo.

FAT Bmx has a picture up of Pim at the Masters. Pim now features a very good version of the Swellbow after competing at the Masters.

A week in Denmark riding the local Copenhagen spots and doing demos at this years Roskilde Festival left Pim with a sore wrist, but that still didn't keep Pim off the bike at the Masters.

Pim said he wanted to do something else for this contest run, so he did a double backflip as the first trick. Good stuff.

Our Australian distributor Mike Daly has been one of the main characters behind an amazing event in Australia which is similar to a snowboard halfpipe contest, only on bikes with snow being exchanged with dirt.

Scott went there and has nothing but good things to tell from it. Here is what he has to say about it:

"This past weekend I lucky enough to get an invite to the RedBull DirtPipe contest.
The comp was held in a serene little town called Mount Beauty, which is out in the country about 400km north-east of Melbourne.
Having seen a few photos of the construction phase around the internet I expected this thing to be insane. The first thing that I realized when we arrived on the hill was that this thing was past insane. I know its cliché, but it's hard to put this monstrosity into words. The thing was intimidating, fast and some of the most fun ever when training a few mates down the beast. By the end of the second day of practice riders were booming 12- 13 foot airs off the lips, and getting sideways for a bit of fun. Everyone was smiling and laughing all weekend as people flowed down the hill each day until the organizers told us to stop.
Riders from all around Australia came out of the wood work to have a knock, there were even a few international riders in the mix. In the end an Aussie took the title and style won over tricks as Russel Brindly, better known as Rusty, grabbed the cash.

After the craziness of the whole weekend sunk in I can safely say that the DirtPipe was the most intimidating, fun, different and insane thing I've ever ridden. After a run down the pipe all you'd want to do is run back to the top and haul ass down it again. By the end of the first day my hands were killing me from hanging onto the bike, and there were still two more days of riding to be done.
I heard talk of RedBull doing the comp again next year, I cannot wait".

To see more from the event go to the redbull website.
There's also some photos on naturalbmx.com

After being off the bike for something like a year and a half due to a torn ACL and Miniscus injuries, I am now back on the bike pedalling around and having a good time.

Being off the bike for that long makes you appreciate just the smallest little things like being able to go pedalling down the street when the sun is out, hopping the curbs and do stupid skids. Can't beat the feeling of just being out there enjoying bikeriding.

This weekend has been spent like so many other weekends has been spent in the past, with a group of friends out exploring and having some fun at new places.

I figured I would post this picture, which is the first one shot after the injury. Fun roadgap with little kickers on each side.

Travis and Frank have more than one thing in common.

First of all they both left their home countries (Australia and Ireland) to come live in Copenhagen. There might be different reasons to the moves, but some of the general things would be bmx and the scandinavian girls.

Apart from being teammates on Simple, Travis and Frank also teamed up to improve Xhall, one of our local indoor parks. Those of you who have been there know that the 3 bowls linked together is good fun for a session, but now things has been opened up and linked together even better.

At the lower end of the bowls there is now a vert wall and a small mini, allowing you to jump out of the lower bowl, carve around and come back in again.
As you see on the picture to your right, there is now a cutout between the 6 foot and the 9foot bowl, opening up for endless lines and combinations.
Chopping out and putting back together like this is definately not an easy task, nevertheless a really good result. - Now log off your computer and go ride this thing!

Our long time project, the Wheel Slammer, is finally out and available.

The idea for these has been started out a long time ago, coming from balls from looseballbearings and what not stuffed in the gap between the axle and the dropout to keep the wheel from sliding forward.

Once you have worked out how much of a gap you have between your axle and your dropout you just get that size and plug it in there.
On the picture shown to the right you see the 4.5 * 5.0mm. The slammers come with two sizes in one to leave a little option with play to you, they start at the 0.5*1.0mm and go all the way up to 7.5*8.0mm.

Thecomeup posted a block about the slammers too, and it seems that it has been hard for some people to understand how they work. They don't actually slam your wheel in the sense of making your wheelbase as short as possible, but once you have them in your wheel can no longer move forward, which is what we mean by calling the wheel slammers.
Click here to see the Comeup block.

They are done in Aluminum and the weight is next to nothing. We did them as small as possible, and if you want to run them with pegs you just get an adaptor ring to fit around it.

Simpel session went down last weekend, and was a lot of fun.

Eduards, Pim, Shoji, Kert, Mitch and myself (niels) was there to hang out and ride.

Ed was doing some really nice 360 inverts like the one shown to the right here, Shoji had some really nice lines, Mitch was flowing and styling around the entire course with his own lines (and on his new signature frame too), and Pim was set for the comp doing frontflips and was sooo close to pulling a double backflip during his run. Some really good stuff went down from all the riders there.

As you probably already know, Garrett Reynolds won, Gary Young placed 2nd and Daniel Dhers came in 3rd.

Scotty Cramner was riding one of our Eject front hubs, which was nice to see. (click here to see his bike check on Fatbmx).

The first samples of the new Mitch Yeates signature frame are ready.

Mitch has been shooting some ideas over for a frame, and after a lot of sketching and designing we are now ready to test the first samples.

The frame will be called The Weaver, and will be available in Toptube 20.6", 20.8", 21" and 21.2".

We still have to finetune the frame with some minor details, so you will have to stay tuned for the specs a little longer. The main features of the frame is that it will be really slim and light, a short rear end and small dropouts.

Graphics has been done by Mike DeWit, and has recieved some very positive feedback. The frame will be available in a Teal combo, and in a Green combo.
Click here to see the graphics.

The Ride UK website has a little Q&A up about the frame as well. click here to see that.

This is the latest Ride UK advert, featuring David Lombard, and the new seatpostclamps.

As you might know, David quit his job as the editor of Cream magazine to get more time on his bike, and to pursue a new a different career as a landscaper. Sounds nice indeed. I am sure that rideable landscapes will start popping up all over France...

Shoji has been pushing some buttons on the computer in Japan, and has put up a small blog called "Simple Life".

Being a Simple mind can be quite interesting according to the pictures and text Shoji put up on the blog.

Shoji Just recently went to Okinawa, a small island we also visited on our latest Japan tour. That place is truely amazing.

Props issue 67 is out now, and features our new advert with Kert.

Kert has been busy at work getting some clips done. He was slowed down by a smaller injury, but still managed to come up with some really impressive clips.

Roman Neiman filmed and edited the advert.

A lot of new, nice photos are up on the teamsite of Eduards.

I should say that Latvia would be pretty cold these days, but it seems that Ed still finds a warm and dry place to ride.

Eduards qualified to this years Simpel Session in Estonia, and will be joining Mitch, Shoji, Travis and myself (Niels) over there in January.

A big thank you goes out to the photographers. - Thank you!

Jeremy sent in these photos of his bike.

The graphics on Jeremys bike is made by his good friend Anthony Lille and is definately a good job. Very interesting indeed. Something else.

And you would have to agree to "Make trails, not bombs"...

Jeremy just came back from the Urban Vibrations of Pessac. He made the finals, but crashed and got a concussion. Nothing serious though. I am sure it was still a good time.

Thank you very much Anthony for the nice graphics. Good Job!

To see all the drawings, go to Jeremy's teamsite, and have a look at the bikecheck.

Strictly bmx shop out of Australia emailed in some news about a modified Simple Eject hub.

Liam Fahy-Hampton is running the Eject hubs, he runs two front wheels ie. no drive chain. Liam is really amazing to watch ride and does some very original stuff on the bike.

He had the hubs machined out to take 12mm axle studs for added strength.
Very interesting.

I thought I should take the chance to show you this really nice video of Liam while I am at it. Good stuff indeed.

Ed docherty shot the photo, good work.

Here is a random photo I shot of Mitch last time he was in Denmark.

Photo is shot in Xhall, which is a skatepark build under a bridge in Copenhagen. The skatepark has 3 different sized bowls, all linked together.
It actually just expanded as of last week. Travis and Frank have been busy at work, and opened up the end of the park with another mini and a vert quarter. Now there is a ton of new lines to flow around on. Good stuff.

On a sidenote, Mitch is curreltly awaiting a prototype of his upcoming signature frame. Stay tuned.

Our Estonian distributor and good friend Alan Silmann sent over this video of Kert riding some street in Tallinn.
Alan was worried that people would think that the axle Kert breaks in the opening clip is an Eject hub axle. So I just wanted to let you know that it isn't.

Thanks a lot to Roman Neiman for the good edit.

Enjoy the video.

Seems as if Dominik Wrobel (aka Woozy) and Rutger Pauw has secretly been following me (Niels) around sniping pictures of me without my knowing it.

They have been busy at it, and definately get around.
Woozy came to Japan with us for the roadtrip there a while back, and Rutger was just in Copenhagen for a few weeks of summerfun. But I honestly had no idea they were all the rest of the places.

Woozy just posted the pavarazzi photos on the woozy website.

Came across this advert from the July issue of Ride UK, and realized that I never posted it on the website.

Better late than never..

It's Kert riding the Boob spot in Copenhagen just before the Roskilde Festival. I could come up with a lot of lame captions based on the name of this spot, but I will spare you my bad sense of humor.

He ended up taking 5 prizes at the contest including;

Most original trick
Craziest attitude

Congrats Kert!

Some other catagories that he did not win were:

Worst shit-talker ever
Crazy ass sportsman
Crazy ass paintjob
Grindmaster
Craziest line
Best young gun

Sounds like a good time to me.

Ride UK issue 108 is on the streets now, and features none other than Mitch on the cover.
It's Steve Bancrofts first issue as an editor, and based on that I'd have to say that things look good for the magazine.

Issue # 108 is a roadtrip issue, and among other trips, it features the Simple Copenhagen to Roskilde trip with 4 pages worth of photos from Rutger Pauw and a nonsense text and captions from Travis and partly myself.

Mitch has a spot in the contents pages as well.
And last but not least, he's featured in the Simple advert in the magazine as well. This lad's all over the place...

If you haven't got yourself a copy of # 108, go get it now. Go, Go, Go!

Mitch has been travelling quite a bit this summer, after digging and riding whenever it was dry at the Empire of Dirt he started out with the Fise contest in France, then the Roskilde Festival in Denmark and after that a roadtrip ending at the Rebel Jam in Berlin, Germany.

On the picture to the right Mitch is giving an interview to the TV at the Fise contest.
Steve Bancroft sent in the picture to let us know how much of a pro attitude Mitch puts up at events.
Actually, Mitch is living up to the small print in the contract on the picture here (click here or on the picture to the right).

Thanks to Steve Bancroft for sending in the pictures.
